News out of spring training camp features the Red Sox' owner John Henry talking about how baseball needs to implement a salary cap.
Apparently, Henry is unhappy that his small market budget couldn't compete with the Yankees when they signed Mark Teixeira, C.C. Sabathia and A.J. Burnett.
Well cry me a river, Henry. I didn't hear any such talk about a cap when your BoSox were spening more money than the Florida Marlins' payroll just to TALK to Dice K. I didn't hear a peep from you about a cap when you shelled out $10 million per year to starting pitcher Josh Beckett.
So save it, Henry. You are obviously not concerned with dishing out the cash. And you are apparently only concerned about a salary cap when you are falling victim to the Yankees' steep payroll.
